As The St. Louis American first reported Wednesday, Congressman Russ Carnahan has endorsed Senator Barack Obama's presidential bid.
"President Barack Obama would heal the wounds caused by the Bush administration," Carnahan said. "He is prepared to change the course and get us out of Iraq."
"I like the fact that he is a neighbor and understands our part of the country." But his crossover appeal - crossing over many kinds of lines and barriers - appeals to Carnahan even more.
"It's so exciting to see the new level of enthusiasm he brought to this race, not just the size of the crowds and the numbers of donors, but the incredible diversity in terms of economic background, ethnicity and geography," Carnahan said.
